and now online: The Kenyan parliament resumes after a break
of seven months. The reason was the turmoil around the referendum
on a new constitution. The president addressed the parliament
and mentioned the policy against corruption and relief efforts
against the drought. The policitical situation in Kenya remains
tensed, and Kenyan were not allowed near the parliament house.

just returned from a trip through East Africa and Kenya. 3.5
million people in Kenya need food assistance, due to the prolonged
drought. WFP needs hundreds of million of US Dollars from
the donors. 'If it doesn't come fast we are facing a very
serious situation,' Morris said, referring to a massive starvation
in Kenya.

Kenya drought - burgado 3.5 million people in Kenya are facing
starvation due to prolonged drought. The government made an
international appeal of 242 million dollar for water and food

clashes in Northern Kenya. The Gabbra tribe was alledgely

prevalence of small arms in East Africa.

production plant in Africa. The factory laborers live in a

Nairobi Marathon 2004 The 28-year-old Kenyan Benjamin Kipchumba
won the marathon with 2:11:49. It was the second edition of
the Nairobi Marathon. The price for winning the Nairobi Marathon
is 1 million Kenia Shillings, i.e. 13,000 US Dollars.
