for Developement Co-operation. She inspected water sites, visited
cotton farmers, and started a school campaign for girls education.
The Netherlands is planning to raise the aid for this small
country in West Africa. |

Cotton farmers in Benin suffer from high prices for seeds and
fertilisers, and from low international cotton prices. The Dutch
minister for Development Co-operation stressed for reforms in
the cotton sector, otherwise she will withhold funding for the
Benin goverment. |

In Cotonou the Dutch Minister Van Ardenne fired up a national
campaign to get more girls to school. Now only half of all the
girls finish school education. |
